Azerfon
Subscriber loyalty improved due to spam reduction. Increased coverage included two-way traffic exchange with non-roaming destinations

Azerfon is a GSM, UMTS and LTE cellular communication operator operating in Azerbaijan and other CIS countries since 2007.
Goal
Establish control over the volumes of international messaging by ensuring network protection.
Solution
Investigating the architecture to block detected unauthorized routes and proactive network scanning enabled control over all possible traffic termination routes, transforming the operator’s SMS channels into a strong revenue channel.
Impact
Subscriber loyalty improved due to spam reduction. Increased coverage included two-way traffic exchange with non-roaming destinations.
Capital and operational costs were reduced. Bilateral transparency at every stage and total control over traffic permitted maximum monetisation of the operator’s messaging.
